W. T. Vernon Housing Corporation is a non-profit Missouri corporation, founded in 1986 for the sole purpose of providing subsidized housing to low income senior citizens in the Lebanon area.

Former Lebanon Mayor, the late Kenneth Cowan was very instrumental in securing major funding and financing for the corporation through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, (HUD).

Construction of Vernon Heights began with groundbreaking ceremonies on December 9, 1988 and opened for its' first tenant occupancy on June 1, 1989.

Madison Manor soon followed with the original founders of Vernon Heights forming Madison Manor Housing Corporation.

Construction on Madison Manor began in April 1991 and the building occupied its’ first tenant in June 1992.

While both properties were always managed and maintained by the same board of directors, management and staff, it was only natural that the two should be held under one corporate entity. In 2007 both properties were brought together under the current W. T. Vernon Housing Corporation.
