To be eligible you must meet the following minimum requirements:*


  1. You must be at least 62 years of age, OR; handicapped (mobility impaired) and
    require a handicapped accessible apartment.

  2. Your income must be less than;
    $16,750.00/yr if single or,
    $19,150.00/yr combined if married.

  3. Gross income is used to determine eligibility. Income includes Social Security Benefits, Retirement, SSI, Veterans Benefits and Interest that is earned on CD's Savings accounts, Bonds, etc. If you own property we figure 2% on the asset value.

  4. Certain medical expenses will be deducted when figuring your rent amount.  These include prescription drugs taken on a regular basis, over-the-counter drugs (as instructed by your doctor, with proof), hearing aid batteries, etc.

  5. Other deductions may include health insurance premiums, medicare premiums, doctor and/or hospital bills you may currently be paying and mileage for out-of-town doctor visits.



W.T. Vernon Housing Corporation is a "HOUSING ONLY FACILITY" . As such, we do not provide any supportive living services that would require licensing under Missouri State Law. If you are in need of supportive services, you must make your own arrangements. Our Service Coordinator can assist you in obtaining services that you may need.


Applications for occupancy and employment are accepted without regard to race, creed, color, religion, national origin or disability.


Applications are selected on a first-come, first-served basis as determined by the time and date of receipt of the application.


W.T. Vernon Housing Corporation is governed byThe United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, (HUD), Handbook 4350.3 and all changes as may be made by HUD.

*Certain other restrictions may also apply, as required by HUD.
